ABSTRACT | ||
Ashalata Singha is a noteworthy name in the history of Bengali literature. But there is little
study exploration about this Authoress in Bengali literature or study on this great woman is
hardly noticed in the history of Bengali literature. Some enthusiastic Researchers have written
on this Authoress. There was a very amiable relationship between Rabindranath Tagore and
Ashalata Devi. We come to know about that deep sign deep bonding from some letters written
by Rabindranath Tagore. She was an object of great affection to Rabindranath. Besides being
a novelist, she was an essayist and playwright. Throughout her life she committed herself in
practicing literature. She had written in many journals and papers with dignity for many
years. Many of her essays and novels fascinated not only Rabindranath but also many great
persons of her contemporary time. In this connection there was a regular exchange of letters
between Ashalata Devi and her contemporary sagacious of letters. Many unknown aspects of
such an outstanding authoress are broadcasted in her correspondence with Rabindranath
