Shakta Sadhak Ramprasad Sen appeared in the troubled socio-economic environment of the eighteenth century Bengal. Indeed, the first true beginning of Shakta Song is through him. The eighteenth century socio-economic turmoil, the change in political potholes, attacks of bargi and the aggression of English merchants were all stored in the experience of Ramprasad. And in the troubled times, the worship of the mother to seek shelter from the feeling of insecurity of the ordinary people was expressed in the Shakti verses of ramprasad.
